Welcome to the Inglewood Football & Cheer program! Thank you for expressing an interest in serving as Head Coach and/or Assistant Coach. Being part of the staff of a team/squad of young people is an exciting way to be involved in sports, but it isn’t easy! There are many responsibilities involved in helping our young athletes through their early sporting experiences. It involves teaching proper football/cheer techniques all while emphasizing safety. Most importantly, you must be a positive role model to your team, your community and the Inglewood Sentinels Football & Cheer Program.
The Head Coach and/or Assistant Coach shall exhibit conduct that is consistent with all bylaws, rules, regulations AAU SYCEFL Southern Conference and Inglewood Sentinels Youth Football & Cheer. The responsibilities of a Head Coach and/or Assistant Coach includes, but is not limited to, all practice sessions and games/performances that are held during the season. The Head Coach has the final authority in determining participant position, full disciplinary and means of disciplinary action over his/her team/squad at all times. He/she shall be the head of his/her team/squad and responsible for its conduct at all times (participants, staff and parents/families). Once a Head Coach is approved, he/she recommends Assistant Coaches for consideration and approval or disapproval of the ISYFC Board of Directors for final selection.
A Coach assumes the responsibility to do everything possible to ensure that each player will have an enjoyable and safe experience while they participate in the program. If you are ever in doubt about your approach, remind yourself that FUN, FUNDAMENTALS and SAFETY are the most important.
